CVE-2026-64040 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-19 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cachefiles: Fix error return when vfs_mkdir() fails When vfs_mkdir() fails, the error code is not extracted from the returned error pointer. This causes mkdir_error to be reached with ret=0, which leads to returning ERR_PTR(0) (NULL) instead of a proper error pointer. Fix this by extracting the error code from the error pointer when vfs_mkdir() fails.
CVE-2026-63990 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-19 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bonding: refuse to enslave CAN devices syzbot reported a kernel paging request crash in can_rx_unregister() inside net/can/af_can.c. The crash occurs because a virtual CAN device (vxcan) is being enslaved to a bonding master. During the enslavement process, the bonding driver mutates and modifies the network device states to fit an Ethernet-like aggregation model. However, CAN devices operate on a completely different Layer 2 architecture, relying on the CAN mid-layer private data structure (can_ml_priv) instead of standard Ethernet structures. Since bonding does not initialize or maintain these CAN structures, subsequent operations on the half-enslaved interface (such as closing associated sockets via isotp_release) lead to a null-pointer dereference when accessing the CAN receiver lists. Bonding CAN interfaces is architecturally invalid as CAN lacks MAC addresses, ARP capabilities, and standard Ethernet link-layer mechanisms. While generic loopback devices are blocked globally in net/core/dev.c, virtual CAN devices bypass this check because they do not carry the IFF_LOOPBACK flag, despite acting as local software-loopbacks. Fix this by explicitly blocking network devices of type ARPHRD_CAN from being enslaved at the very beginning of bond_enslave(). This prevents illegal state mutations, eliminates the resulting KASAN crashes, and avoids potential memory leaks from incomplete socket cleanups. As the CAN support has been added a long time after bonding the Fixes-tag points to the introduction of ARPHRD_CAN that would have needed a specific handling in bonding_main.c.
CVE-2026-63811 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-19 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: read COW data with the original inode during atomic write When updating an atomic-write file, f2fs_write_begin() may read the previously written data back from the COW inode: prepare_atomic_write_begin() locates the block in the COW inode and sets use_cow, and the read bio is then built with the COW inode: f2fs_submit_page_read(use_cow ? F2FS_I(inode)->cow_inode : inode, ...); and f2fs_grab_read_bio() decides whether to schedule fs-layer decryption (STEP_DECRYPT) for the bio based on that inode via fscrypt_inode_uses_fs_layer_crypto(). However, the folio being filled belongs to the original inode (folio->mapping->host == inode), and the data stored in the COW block was encrypted (or left as plaintext) using the original inode's context, not the COW inode's -- see f2fs_encrypt_one_page(), which keys off fio->page->mapping->host. fscrypt_decrypt_pagecache_blocks() likewise operates on folio->mapping->host. The COW inode is created as a tmpfile in the parent directory and inherits its encryption policy from there. With test_dummy_encryption the newly created COW inode gets the dummy policy and becomes encrypted, while a pre-existing regular file -- created before the policy applied, e.g. already present in the on-disk image -- stays unencrypted. The read path then sets STEP_DECRYPT based on the encrypted COW inode and calls fscrypt_decrypt_pagecache_blocks() on a folio whose host (the unencrypted original inode) has a NULL ->i_crypt_info, dereferencing it: Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address ... KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000008-0x000000000000000f] RIP: 0010:fscrypt_decrypt_pagecache_blocks+0xa0/0x310 Workqueue: f2fs_post_read_wq f2fs_post_read_work Call Trace: fscrypt_decrypt_bio+0x1eb/0x340 f2fs_post_read_work+0xba/0x140 process_one_work+0x91c/0x1a40 worker_thread+0x677/0xe90 kthread+0x2bc/0x3a0 The COW inode is only needed to locate the on-disk block, and that block address is already resolved into @blkaddr by prepare_atomic_write_begin() via __find_data_block(cow_inode, ...); f2fs_submit_page_read() then reads from that physical @blkaddr directly, so the inode argument only selects the post-read crypto context, not which block is fetched. Reading with @inode therefore returns the same (latest, not-yet-committed) COW data, while making both the fs-layer decryption decision and the inline crypto path use the correct (original inode's) key. With the COW inode no longer used at the read site, the use_cow flag has no remaining consumer; drop it from f2fs_write_begin() and prepare_atomic_write_begin().
CVE-2026-53385 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-19 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vc_screen: fix null-ptr-deref in vcs_notifier() during concurrent vcs_write A KASAN null-ptr-deref was observed in vcs_notifier(): BUG: KASAN: null-ptr-deref in vcs_notifier+0x98/0x130 Read of size 2 at addr qmp_cmd_name: qmp_capabilities, arguments: {} The issue is a race condition in vcs_write(). When the console_lock is temporarily dropped (to copy data from userspace), the vc_data pointer obtained from vcs_vc() may become stale. After re-acquiring the lock, vcs_vc() is called again to re-validate the pointer. If the vc has been deallocated in the meantime, vcs_vc() returns NULL, and the while loop breaks (with written > 0). However, after the loop, vcs_scr_updated(vc) is still called with the now-NULL vc pointer, leading to a null pointer dereference in the notifier chain (vcs_notifier dereferences param->vc). Fix this by adding a NULL check for vc before calling vcs_scr_updated().
CVE-2026-53382 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-19 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: vidtv: fix NULL pointer dereference in vidtv_mux_push_si syzbot reported a general protection fault in vidtv_psi_ts_psi_write_into [1]. vidtv_mux_get_pid_ctx() can return NULL, but vidtv_mux_push_si() does not check for this before dereferencing the returned pointer to access the continuity counter. This leads to a general protection fault when accessing a near-NULL address. The root cause is that vidtv_mux_pid_ctx_init() does not check the return value of vidtv_mux_create_pid_ctx_once() for PMT section PIDs. If the allocation fails, the PID context is never created, but init returns success. The subsequent vidtv_mux_push_si() call then gets NULL from vidtv_mux_get_pid_ctx() and crashes. Fix both the root cause (add error check in vidtv_mux_pid_ctx_init for PMT PIDs) and add defensive NULL checks in vidtv_mux_push_si for all vidtv_mux_get_pid_ctx() calls. CVE-2026-50315 1 Microsoft 4 Windows 11 24h2, Windows 11 25h2, Windows 11 26h1 and 1 more 2026-07-16 7.8 High
Null pointer dereference in Windows Image Acquisition allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
CVE-2026-46092 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-16 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: rtw88: check for PCI upstream bridge existence pci_upstream_bridge() returns NULL if the device is on a root bus. If 8821CE is installed in the system with such a PCI topology, the probing routine will crash. This has probably been unnoticed as 8821CE is mostly supplied in laptops where there is a PCI-to-PCI bridge located upstream from the device. However the card might be installed on a system with different configuration. Check if the bridge does exist for the specific workaround to be applied. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Svace static analysis tool.
CVE-2026-52865 1 F5 1 Nginx Ingress Controller 2026-07-15 6.5 Medium
When NGINX Ingress Controller processes Ingress or TransportServer resources, an authenticated, remote attacker with permission to create or modify Ingress or TransportServer resources can cause the NGINX Ingress Controller process to terminate. Impact: The NGINX Ingress Controller control plane process terminates and enters a persistent crash loop while the malformed Ingress or TransportServer resource remains in the cluster. This vulnerability allows a remote, authenticated attacker with at least Ingress or TransportServer resource write access to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) on the NGINX Ingress Controller system. There is no data plane exposure; this is a control plane issue only. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.

CVE-2026-60109 1 Zeek 1 Zeek 2026-07-14 7.5 High
Zeek before 8.0.9 contains a null pointer dereference vulnerability in its Kerberos protocol analyzer that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to crash the sensor by sending a crafted KRB_ERROR message with error-code 25 (KDC_ERR_PREAUTH_REQUIRED) containing a PA-DATA element with padata-type 2, 3, 11, or 19. Attackers can exploit a parser and analyzer state mismatch where proc_padata() dereferences an uninitialized pa_data_element field selected by the wrong parsing arm, triggering a crash via a single UDP or TCP packet to port 88 without any credentials or prior authentication.

CVE-2026-32854 3 Libvnc Project, Libvncserver, Libvncserver Project 3 Libvncserver, Libvncserver, Libvncserver 2026-07-14 7.5 High
LibVNCServer versions 0.9.15 and prior (fixed in commit dc78dee) contain null pointer dereference vulnerabilities in the HTTP proxy handlers within httpProcessInput() in httpd.c that allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending specially crafted HTTP requests. Attackers can exploit missing validation of strchr() return values in the CONNECT and GET proxy handling paths to trigger null pointer dereferences and crash the server when httpd and proxy features are enabled.
CVE-2026-10659 1 Zephyrproject 1 Zephyr 2026-07-14 4.7 Medium
The Dhara flash translation layer disk driver (drivers/disk/ftl_dhara.c) implemented the dhara_nand_ callbacks so that, on a flash error, the error code was written unconditionally through the caller-supplied dhara_error_t err pointer (e.g. *err = DHARA_E_ECC in dhara_nand_read, and similar in dhara_nand_erase/prog/copy). The upstream Dhara library calls these callbacks with err == NULL along its journal-resume binary search: find_last_checkblock() invokes find_checkblock(j, mid, &found, NULL), which forwards the NULL pointer into dhara_nand_read(). This path runs during disk_ftl_access_init() -> dhara_map_resume() whenever the FTL disk is mounted/initialised. If a flash read error (uncorrectable ECC, bad block, controller error) occurs on one of the probed checkpoint pages, the driver dereferences and writes to NULL, faulting the kernel (denial of service). The trigger is conditioned on the NAND medium content/health, which can be influenced by media wear, induced faults, or a corrupted/crafted on-flash image. The fix routes all error assignments through the library's NULL-safe dhara_set_error() helper. Affects Zephyr v4.4.0, where the driver was introduced.
CVE-2026-10656 1 Zephyrproject 1 Zephyr 2026-07-14 4.6 Medium
The MAX32xxx USB device controller driver (drivers/usb/udc/udc_max32.c, compatible adi_max32_usbhs) dereferenced an endpoint buffer in its OUT and IN transfer-completion handlers without checking it for NULL. udc_event_xfer_out_done() called net_buf_add(buf, ep_request->actlen) immediately after buf = udc_buf_get(ep_cfg), where udc_buf_get() returns NULL when the endpoint FIFO is empty. A transfer-completion event is queued from interrupt context and processed asynchronously by the driver thread; between queuing and processing, the endpoint FIFO can be drained by host-controlled control flow — in particular udc_setup_received() drains the EP0 OUT/IN FIFOs whenever a new SETUP packet arrives, and dequeue/disable/purge paths drain it likewise. A USB host that aborts an in-flight EP0 control transfer with a new SETUP packet (legal USB behavior) can therefore cause a stale XFER_OUT_DONE event to be processed against an empty FIFO, producing net_buf_add(NULL, ...), a near-NULL pointer dereference that faults and crashes the device. No authentication is required; the attacker is the USB host the device is connected to (physical bus access). Impact is denial of service (device crash). The defect was introduced when the MAX32 UDC driver was added and shipped in Zephyr v4.4.0. The fix adds NULL-buffer checks that return early with UDC_EVT_ERROR/-ENOBUFS in both the OUT-done and IN-done handlers.
CVE-2026-10648 1 Zephyrproject 1 Zephyr 2026-07-14 6.2 Medium
mcumgr_serial_process_frag() in subsys/mgmt/mcumgr/transport/src/serial_util.c calls net_buf_reset() on the result of smp_packet_alloc() before checking it for NULL. smp_packet_alloc() uses net_buf_alloc(K_NO_WAIT) against the shared MCUmgr packet pool (CONFIG_MCUMGR_TRANSPORT_NETBUF_COUNT, default 4), which returns NULL when the pool is exhausted. In default builds the __ASSERT_NO_MSG in net_buf_reset is a no-op, so net_buf_simple_reset writes through the NULL pointer (buf->len = 0; buf->data = buf->__buf), causing a fault/crash. The fragment data reaches this code from attacker-controlled bytes on the MCUmgr serial/UART/shell-console transports (smp_uart.c, smp_raw_uart.c, smp_shell.c), and a fresh buffer is allocated at the start of essentially every new packet. An attacker on the serial/console link can flood the transport to drive the 4-entry buffer pool to exhaustion and induce the NULL dereference, crashing the device (denial of service). The defect was introduced after the original MCUmgr rework and shipped in Zephyr v4.4.0. The fix moves the NULL check ahead of net_buf_reset.
CVE-2026-10593 1 Zephyrproject 1 Zephyr 2026-07-14 6.5 Medium
The Zephyr Bluetooth LE Audio Basic Audio Profile (BAP) unicast client mishandles peer-supplied ASE state notifications. In unicast_client_ep_qos_state() (subsys/bluetooth/audio/bap_unicast_client.c), the handler writes attacker-controlled QoS fields (interval, framing, phy, sdu, rtn, latency, pd) through the stream->qos pointer with only a stream != NULL guard. stream->qos is NULL for any stream that has been codec-configured via bt_bap_stream_config() but not yet added to a unicast group (it is set only by unicast_group_add_stream()). A malicious or buggy remote ASCS server, to which the local device is connected as a BAP unicast client, can send a GATT notification announcing the ASE has entered the QoS Configured state while the local endpoint is still in the Codec Configured state — a transition the dispatcher explicitly permits — during that window, causing a write through a NULL pointer and a crash (denial of service). The data written is itself remote-controlled. The defect shipped in v4.3.0 and v4.4.0 (and earlier). The fix re-points all BAP QoS storage to the always-valid embedded ep->qos struct, eliminating the NULL dereference.
CVE-2026-57976 1 Microsoft 13 Windows 10 1607, Windows 10 1809, Windows 10 21h2 and 10 more 2026-07-14 6.5 Medium
Null pointer dereference in Active Directory Domain Services allows an authorized attacker to deny service over a network.
CVE-2026-10670 1 Zephyrproject 1 Zephyr 2026-07-14 5.5 Medium
The CONFIG_USERSPACE verification handler for the k_thread_name_copy() system call (z_vrfy_k_thread_name_copy() in kernel/thread.c) calls k_object_find() on the caller-supplied thread pointer and then dereferences the returned struct k_object without checking it for NULL. k_object_find() returns NULL whenever the supplied pointer is not a registered (static or dynamic) kernel object. The pre-fix guard tested thread == NULL instead of ko == NULL, so an unprivileged user-mode thread that invokes k_thread_name_copy() with any non-NULL but unregistered pointer (e.g. an arbitrary address) passes the NULL test, after which the verifier reads ko->type through a NULL pointer. Because the syscall verifier runs in supervisor mode, this NULL dereference is a kernel-mode fault that halts or reboots the system, allowing untrusted user code to crash the kernel across the userspace security boundary (denial of service). The marshaller passes the thread argument to the verifier without any prior K_SYSCALL_OBJ validation, so the bad pointer reaches the defect directly. The flaw affects builds with CONFIG_USERSPACE and CONFIG_THREAD_NAME enabled and has been present since the special-case lookup was introduced around v2.0.0; it is present in v4.4.0 and earlier. The fix changes the guard to check the k_object_find() return value (ko == NULL) before dereferencing it.
CVE-2026-25075 1 Strongswan 1 Strongswan 2026-07-14 7.5 High
strongSwan versions 4.5.0 prior to 6.0.5 contain an integer underflow vulnerability in the EAP-TTLS AVP parser that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending crafted AVP data with invalid length fields during IKEv2 authentication. Attackers can exploit the failure to validate AVP length fields before subtraction to trigger excessive memory allocation or NULL pointer dereference, crashing the charon IKE daemon.
