CVE-2019-9812 | 2 Mozilla, Redhat | 3 Firefox, Firefox Esr, Enterprise Linux | 2024-11-21 | 9.3 Critical |
Given a compromised sandboxed content process due to a separate vulnerability, it is possible to escape that sandbox by loading accounts.firefox.com in that process and forcing a log-in to a malicious Firefox Sync account. Preference settings that disable the sandbox are then synchronized to the local machine and the compromised browser would restart without the sandbox if a crash is triggered. This vulnerability affects Firefox ESR < 60.9, Firefox ESR < 68.1, and Firefox < 69.
CVE-2019-2182 | 1 Google | 1 Android | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
In the Android kernel in the kernel MMU code there is a possible execution path leaving some kernel text and rodata pages writable. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
CVE-2019-19241 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
In the Linux kernel before 5.4.2, the io_uring feature leads to requests that inadvertently have UID 0 and full capabilities, aka CID-181e448d8709. This is related to fs/io-wq.c, fs/io_uring.c, and net/socket.c. For example, an attacker can bypass intended restrictions on adding an IPv4 address to the loopback interface. This occurs because IORING_OP_SENDMSG operations, although requested in the context of an unprivileged user, are sometimes performed by a kernel worker thread without considering that context.
CVE-2019-18425 | 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Opensuse and 1 more | 4 Debian Linux, Fedora, Leap and 1 more | 2024-11-21 | 9.8 Critical |
An issue was discovered in Xen through 4.12.x allowing 32-bit PV guest OS users to gain guest OS privileges by installing and using descriptors. There is missing descriptor table limit checking in x86 PV emulation. When emulating certain PV guest operations, descriptor table accesses are performed by the emulating code. Such accesses should respect the guest specified limits, unless otherwise guaranteed to fail in such a case. Without this, emulation of 32-bit guest user mode calls through call gates would allow guest user mode to install and then use descriptors of their choice, as long as the guest kernel did not itself install an LDT. (Most OSes don't install any LDT by default). 32-bit PV guest user mode can elevate its privileges to that of the guest kernel. Xen versions from at least 3.2 onwards are affected. Only 32-bit PV guest user mode can leverage this vulnerability. HVM, PVH, as well as 64-bit PV guests cannot leverage this vulnerability. Arm systems are unaffected.
CVE-2019-17056 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2024-11-21 | 3.3 Low |
llcp_sock_create in net/nfc/llcp_sock.c in the AF_NFC network module in the Linux kernel through 5.3.2 does not enforce CAP_NET_RAW, which means that unprivileged users can create a raw socket, aka CID-3a359798b176.
CVE-2019-17055 | 6 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more | 10 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | 3.3 Low |
base_sock_create in drivers/isdn/mISDN/socket.c in the AF_ISDN network module in the Linux kernel through 5.3.2 does not enforce CAP_NET_RAW, which means that unprivileged users can create a raw socket, aka CID-b91ee4aa2a21.
CVE-2019-17054 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2024-11-21 | 3.3 Low |
atalk_create in net/appletalk/ddp.c in the AF_APPLETALK network module in the Linux kernel through 5.3.2 does not enforce CAP_NET_RAW, which means that unprivileged users can create a raw socket, aka CID-6cc03e8aa36c.
CVE-2019-17053 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Extras Rt | 2024-11-21 | 3.3 Low |
ieee802154_create in net/ieee802154/socket.c in the AF_IEEE802154 network module in the Linux kernel through 5.3.2 does not enforce CAP_NET_RAW, which means that unprivileged users can create a raw socket, aka CID-e69dbd4619e7.
CVE-2019-17052 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 1 more | 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 1 more | 2024-11-21 | 3.3 Low |
ax25_create in net/ax25/af_ax25.c in the AF_AX25 network module in the Linux kernel 3.16 through 5.3.2 does not enforce CAP_NET_RAW, which means that unprivileged users can create a raw socket, aka CID-0614e2b73768.
CVE-2019-16784 | 2 Microsoft, Pyinstaller | 2 Windows, Pyinstaller | 2024-11-21 | 7 High |
In PyInstaller before version 3.6, only on Windows, a local privilege escalation vulnerability is present in this particular case: If a software using PyInstaller in "onefile" mode is launched by a privileged user (at least more than the current one) which have his "TempPath" resolving to a world writable directory. This is the case for example if the software is launched as a service or as a scheduled task using a system account (TempPath will be C:\Windows\Temp). In order to be exploitable the software has to be (re)started after the attacker launch the exploit program, so for a service launched at startup, a service restart is needed (e.g. after a crash or an upgrade).
CVE-2019-16767 | 1 Inist | 1 Ezmaster | 2024-11-21 | 6.6 Medium |
The admin sys mode is now conditional and dedicated for the special case. By default, since ezmaster@5.2.11 no instance (container) is launched with advanced capabilities (not launched as root)
CVE-2019-16765 | 1 Microsoft | 1 Codeql | 2024-11-21 | 7.4 High |
If an attacker can get a user to open a specially prepared directory tree as a workspace in Visual Studio Code with the CodeQL extension active, arbitrary code of the attacker's choosing may be executed on the user's behalf. This is fixed in version 1.0.1 of the extension. Users should upgrade to this version using Visual Studio Code Marketplace's upgrade mechanism. After upgrading, the codeQL.cli.executablePath setting can only be set in the per-user settings, and not in the per-workspace settings. More information about VS Code settings can be found here.
CVE-2019-15790 | 2 Apport Project, Canonical | 2 Apport, Ubuntu Linux | 2024-11-21 | 2.8 Low |
Apport reads and writes information on a crashed process to /proc/pid with elevated privileges. Apport then determines which user the crashed process belongs to by reading /proc/pid through get_pid_info() in data/apport. An unprivileged user could exploit this to read information about a privileged running process by exploiting PID recycling. This information could then be used to obtain ASLR offsets for a process with an existing memory corruption vulnerability. The initial fix introduced regressions in the Python Apport library due to a missing argument in Report.add_proc_environ in apport/report.py. It also caused an autopkgtest failure when reading /proc/pid and with Python 2 compatibility by reading /proc maps. The initial and subsequent regression fixes are in 2.20.11-0ubuntu16, 2.20.11-0ubuntu8.6, 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.12, 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.22 and 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.29+esm3.
CVE-2019-11460 | 1 Gnome | 1 Gnome-desktop | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
An issue was discovered in GNOME gnome-desktop 3.26, 3.28, and 3.30 prior to 3.30.2.2, and 3.32 prior to 3.32.1.1. A compromised thumbnailer may escape the bubblewrap sandbox used to confine thumbnailers by using the TIOCSTI ioctl to push characters into the input buffer of the thumbnailer's controlling terminal, allowing an attacker to escape the sandbox if the thumbnailer has a controlling terminal. This is due to improper filtering of the TIOCSTI ioctl on 64-bit systems, similar to CVE-2019-10063.
CVE-2019-11190 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Extras Rt | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
The Linux kernel before 4.8 allows local users to bypass ASLR on setuid programs (such as /bin/su) because install_exec_creds() is called too late in load_elf_binary() in fs/binfmt_elf.c, and thus the ptrace_may_access() check has a race condition when reading /proc/pid/stat.
CVE-2019-11085 | 2 Intel, Redhat | 9 I915, I915 Firmware, Enterprise Linux and 6 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
Insufficient input validation in Kernel Mode Driver in Intel(R) i915 Graphics for Linux before version 5.0 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
CVE-2019-10168 | 1 Redhat | 10 Advanced Virtualization, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
The virConnectBaselineHypervisorCPU() and virConnectCompareHypervisorCPU() libvirt APIs, 4.x.x before 4.10.1 and 5.x.x before 5.4.1, accept an "emulator" argument to specify the program providing emulation for a domain. Since v1.2.19, libvirt will execute that program to probe the domain's capabilities. Read-only clients could specify an arbitrary path for this argument, causing libvirtd to execute a crafted executable with its own privileges.
CVE-2019-10167 | 1 Redhat | 10 Advanced Virtualization, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
The virConnectGetDomainCapabilities() libvirt API, versions 4.x.x before 4.10.1 and 5.x.x before 5.4.1, accepts an "emulatorbin" argument to specify the program providing emulation for a domain. Since v1.2.19, libvirt will execute that program to probe the domain's capabilities. Read-only clients could specify an arbitrary path for this argument, causing libvirtd to execute a crafted executable with its own privileges.
CVE-2019-10147 | 1 Redhat | 1 Rkt | 2024-11-21 | 7.7 High |
rkt through version 1.30.0 does not isolate processes in containers that are run with `rkt enter`. Processes run with `rkt enter` are not limited by cgroups during stage 2 (the actual environment in which the applications run). Compromised containers could exploit this flaw to access host resources.
CVE-2019-10145 | 1 Redhat | 1 Rkt | 2024-11-21 | 7.7 High |
rkt through version 1.30.0 does not isolate processes in containers that are run with `rkt enter`. Processes run with `rkt enter` do not have seccomp filtering during stage 2 (the actual environment in which the applications run). Compromised containers could exploit this flaw to access host resources. |
